Birdie Baby Shower, Tweet Tweet

By now I've written a bunch of posts about baby shower themes:

Thus far, I tried to stay gender neutral and provide ideas for a girl, boy or surprise baby shower.  But, for this post, I'm going girly.  Very, very girly.  The collection of gorgeous Etsy crafts below are all about birds: the birdies themselves, bird cages and branches.  My color palette of choice is pink (of course), sage green and cream, but as you will see there are plenty of ways to color a beautiful, feminine, birdie baby shower.

The Invitation

This printable invitation by Apple Jack Designs reminds me of the bunting that I adore from the Summer Baby Shower post.  The colors are soft and feminine and the design hits a sweet spot of not boring and not overwhelming.

The Pretty Girl Shop makes these modern invitations.  I love the line, "a little birdie told me..."  The color can of course be customized and they come with coordinating envelopes.  The Pretty Girl Shop is generously offering free shipping to NSB readers with the coupon code "NEXTSTOP".

One last invitation - they are all so different and beautiful, I couldn't decide!  This one is made by Sassy Photo Creations and it's a digital file, so you print the invitations yourself.  Use the coupon code "NEXTSTOP10" for 10% discount on your entire purchase!

The Menu

Drinks - Champagne punch.  Yum.  Click HERE for the awesome recipe from the blog Stranded in Cleveland (image below).  And for a non-alcoholic version mix 2 quarts of cranberry or pomegranate juice, a can of frozen pink lemonade and a 1/2 liter bottle of sparkling water.

Food - Berry salad (strawberries, raspberries, blueberries and blackberries, a little lemon juice, a little sugar) with whipped cream topping.  Scones like the one below from the blog Savory Sweet Life and a selection of jams to enjoy with them (click HERE for the recipe).  Butter cookies and puff pastries.  Vanilla cupcakes with pink frosting and pink sprinkles.

The Decorations

These gorgeous little birds by Vintage Green Limited are designed as wedding cake toppers, but I envision them as part of a centerpiece or sweet additions to the food or reception table.  I chose the pink and sage pair, but the colors and patterns are infinite and each is more beautiful then the last.  Get free shipping (in the US only) with the coupon code "nextstopbaby".

These tags by Craft Zany are perfect for guests to write wishes and advice (on the back) for the mommy-to-be.  They can be hung from the branches of a small potted tree or loose branches in a vase.  The result is a beautiful decoration and a collection of loving words for the guest of honor to save and cherish.  Thank you to Craft Zany for offering free shipping (in the US only) with the coupon code "free shipping".

I really like your blog! Such creative ideas. The color palette is lovely. Thanks for including my punch recipe in your post! I would love to see a post on twins baby shower- sex unknown. In the past two years, three families close to me have had twins. One of the showers I threw was for sex unknown (ended up being two girls), but the theme was tricky. Keep up the great posts! Looking forward to seeing more from you.
