Fire Engine Baby Shower, Sound the Alarm

Last week, I gave you a girly girl baby shower idea (Birdie Baby Shower, Tweet Tweet), so it's only fair that this week I give you a 100% BOY baby shower post.  Hence, fire trucks.  It's classic.  The color combination of red, black and white are easy to coordinate, and a splash of yellow here and there would be perfect.

The Invitation

This adorable invitation by Rock Paper Dove comes with white envelopes and check out their cupcake toppers below for the full, matching package.  Boy oh boy!

This last invitation by Dimple Prints has been designed in red, black and white combo that I so love for this theme, but it can be customized with different colors (as seen at the Etsy shop).  It's a digital file and you print the invitations yourself.

The Menu

Drinks - A bowl of bright red fruit punch and pitchers of ice water to put out the flames in your guests' mouths from those red hots and fire balls (below).

Food - There are so many color and theme coordinated candies.  I'm thinking wide mouthed drinking glasses filled with red and black licorice and little glass bowls brimming with Red HotsAtomic Fire Balls and Swedish Fish!  Bright red candy apples and red velvet cupcakes (Click HERE for a recipe by Pinch My Salt).

And, of course, the perfect fire-made treat: s'mores!!! Click HERE for a recipe from the blog Sweets: The Baking Adventure of Eeb (photo below).

Or, check out the amazing bite-sized s'mores below by The Fluffy Chocolatier - the graham cracker crust, milk chocolate ganache filling and vanilla marshmallow topping are the ultimate combo.  Right?  No question.  Also ask about the delicious alternative - a pretzel crust and peanut butter filling.  The Fluffy Chocolatier is offering a 20% discount on all treats from its Etsy shop with the coupon code "nextstopbaby"

The Games

I like this game by Party Place because it doesn't require wrapping yourself in toilet paper or participating in a blind taste test of baby food.  These advice cards could be mailed out with the invitations to be filled out in advance or they could be handed out at the shower.  Get 10% off with the coupon code "NEXTSTOPBABY10"

Remember when we played the "blind baby food" game at the baby shower and all the vegetarians got mad because there were turkey and chicken jars?

I LOVE the advice cards! I still have the ones from my wedding.

I LOVE this post! My sister-in-law is a firefighter, and when the time comes, I will definitely be throwing her this shower!

WW - I do remember the chicken pot pie baby food meets vegetarian nightmare/perfection. Oops.

Jessica - Love it. It was so fun to put this post together - I don't think of the color or use the color red enough. It inspired me to buy a red dress!!! Random, I know :)
