But, this post is not about Sandy the Frankenstorm, she's received enough attention. This post is about Sandy the name, sort of. Here's my question: Do you know anyone who named their baby after a storm, major historic event or natural disaster that occurred on the date of the baby's birth?
Any baby girl Sandra's or baby boy Sanford's named over the past couple days?
If so, tell me about it...stud.

So the thing about my phone is- it doesn't let me comment pn blog posts! Very frustrating because I had a very clever suggestion that babies born in July will have the Sandy/Sanford name because there would be nothing else to do in these power outages. Ugh!

I don't know anyone *personally* but I've found quite a few examples of babies being named for weather-related events (and many other historic events) in old newspapers/books.
Here's a post I wrote a few months ago, about a baby named Hilda for Hurricane Hilda (1964):

It includes links to posts about other babies named for many other hurricanes (Andrew, Gloria, etc.).
I've also found at least a few babies born in windstorms and named "Gale." And there's a pro-poker player who was born in a storm and named "Cycalona" (nn Clonie).
